Naples – An afternoon of routine madness in the heart of the city ended with three arrests and the recovery of the stolen goods, thanks to the swift response of State Police officers. A 21-year-old and two 17-year-olds, both of Neapolitan origin, were arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit theft.

The attack and the escape

It all began on Via Nuova Marina, where the victim was surprised by a young man who, in a lightning-fast move, snatched the gold from his neck. The criminal didn't act alone: a getaway car, with two other accomplices inside, was waiting a few meters away. Despite the shock, the victim managed to raise the alarm and provide crucial details to the Operations Room.

The chase and the discovery

Officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, receiving the radio alert, began canvassing the area. Their hunch proved correct: the reported vehicle was intercepted nearby, on Via Ammiraglio Ferdinando Acton.

During the search of the vehicle and the suspects, the officers discovered the "loot": the necklace had been carefully hidden inside the sleeve of a jacket.

Drugs and measures

In addition to the theft charge, the situation of one of the two minors has worsened. The young man was found in possession of a small bag of marijuana; he was also fined for possession of narcotics for personal use.

While the three suspects were being taken to the police station to complete the usual formalities, the gold necklace returned to its rightful owner, putting an end to a story that could have had far worse consequences.
