Nola – A trivial domestic argument escalated into near-tragedy last night in Nola. A 58-year-old man, already known to law enforcement, was arrested by the State Police on charges of attempted murder against his son-in-law.

Blood in the ward: the alert from the hospital

The alarm was raised when medical staff at Nola hospital reported to the Operations Room the arrival of a man with deep stab wounds. Officers from the local police station, engaged in their usual patrol, rushed to the hospital to gather initial testimonies and reconstruct the events.

Attack for trivial reasons

According to investigators, the violence erupted inside an apartment on Via Circumvallazione. At the height of an argument that erupted over what were described as "trivial" matters, the 58-year-old allegedly grabbed a pair of scissors, lunged at his son-in-law, and struck him repeatedly.

Lightning investigations and capture

While the victim received the necessary treatment, the police launched a rapid investigation to locate the attacker, who had since fled the scene. The search concluded shortly thereafter in Piazza Settembrini, where the man was located and apprehended by officers.

At the same time, a search of the victim's home led to the discovery and seizure of the murder weapon: the scissors used in the attack, still stained with blood. The 58-year-old was immediately placed in handcuffs.
