Lacco Ameno – What was supposed to be a peaceful evening at home turned into a nightmare for a couple living on the green island. The couple, aged 43 and 54, were attacked by their dog, a Pitbull, inside their home.
The alarm was raised when 118 paramedics intervened to provide first aid to the two injured people, urgently transporting them to the emergency room of the "Rizzoli" hospital in Lacco Ameno.
The man was the worst hit, suffering injuries to his right leg and left forearm; the woman also suffered less extensive but still serious injuries, hitting her right forearm.
Carabinieri officers from the Barano d'Ischia station arrived at the hospital to conduct an investigation and reconstruct the exact circumstances of the incident. According to reports, the two animals are not in life-threatening condition, but they remain under medical observation to monitor the risk of infection and the severity of the bites. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the animal's sudden reaction.
