ROME — An unexpected incident marred Sal Da Vinci's afternoon on television, a guest on the post-festival special of Domenica In. The Neapolitan singer, fresh from his victory at the 76th edition of the Sanremo Music Festival, was performing his winning song "Per sempre sì" when he accidentally fell.
After giving the audience an encore, the artist descended into the audience to sing closer to the fans. However, in an attempt to quickly climb the side stairs of the studio, he slipped and lost his balance. The apprehensive moment lasted only a few seconds: Da Vinci quickly got up, unharmed, and resumed his performance immediately to applause.
The on-stage joke: "I dirtied my pants."
Back on stage, the singer reassured host Mara Venier, downplaying the incident with a touch of humor. "I dirtied my pants," he joked, but lamented the lack of "zeppettelle"—small non-slip mats—on the first steps of the stairs.
Once the unexpected event was resolved, the broadcast continued without further incident until the most emotional moment of the episode: Da Vinci presented the host with a ring as a symbol of "eternal friendship," engraved with the phrase "Forever Yes." Then, a long embrace and a kiss on the lips sealed the moment in front of the studio audience.
His final greeting was all Neapolitan: "Cià uaglù... e Forza Napoli," he said, addressing the viewers.
The crowd's ovation and the story of the victory
His entrance into the studio was greeted with a standing ovation. Showing off his newly won trophy, the artist dedicated his success to the audience: "This award is for people like you."
Speaking about his upcoming international engagement, the singer promised maximum commitment without any artistic upheavals: "I'll give it my all, I don't think I'll change."
There was also a look back. Da Vinci recalled his third-place finish in 2009, expressing his hope that official awards would also be given to those who finish second or third.
"The victory of those who never give up": a message to young people
During the interview, the artist emphasized the personal value of the goal achieved, speaking of a journey built on hardship and determination.
"It's been an incredible journey to get here," he explained. "It's the victory and redemption of those who, despite adversity, never stop chasing their dreams."
A success that, as the singer himself recalled, also strengthens his bond with Naples, which he starred in the latest television and music season alongside other well-known faces from the entertainment world, including Stefano De Martino.
The final message was clear: "Don't give up in the face of difficulties. If I did it, anyone can."

I saw the performance yesterday at Domenica In, and the fall didn't seem dangerous, but singer Sal Da Vinci was strange. He immediately got up and sang again. The wedges were missing from the steps because he slipped. The aronchio seemed like a symbolic gesture, and the audience applauded, but I was a little perplexed.
