Naples - Chaired by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, the meeting was held this morning at the Prefecture with a high-level audience. Among those present were the Councilor for Legal Affairs of the City of Naples, the provincial commanders of the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza, the Deputy Chief of Police, and the Commander of the Local Police.

Also present was a representative of the parish of San Giuseppe and Madonna di Lourdes, a symbol of ecclesial resistance against violence.

Prefect Di Bari was blunt: "The police are paying close attention to the area. Immediately following the events, we intensified surveillance and control measures in the area, with frequent patrols stopping and passing through, to increase security and the perception of the institutions' closeness to the citizens."

These words translate an anti-Camorra strategy into action: more patrol cars, checkpoints, and house-to-house searches. The Guardia di Finanza will monitor suspicious financial flows, while the Carabinieri will intensify searches of known hideouts.
