Caserta– A coordinated operation by Carabinieri officers from the Casal di Principe company led to the seizure of an illegal gambling den in Casapesenna and the filing of charges against 26 people. The operation, conducted overnight between Thursday and Friday, is part of a broader strategy to control the territory in the municipalities of the Aversa countryside.
The operation involved 100 military personnel deployed in the areas of Casapesenna, Villa Literno, Casal di Principe, and San Cipriano d'Aversa, with particular attention to illegal rings historically used by organized crime for money laundering and consolidation of territorial control.
During the checks, the Carabinieri located the establishment in Piazza Petrillo, where gambling sessions were being held throughout the night. At the end of the inspection, 26 individuals were charged with illegal gambling. Among them, a 28-year-old man already known to law enforcement for drug-related offenses, was identified as the actual manager of the club.
The seizure included 15 decks of Neapolitan cards, three decks of poker, a briefcase containing chips and dice, accounting documents, and approximately €45 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity.
