Naples – A Beretta model 98 FS pistol with its serial number removed and 15 rounds of ammunition hidden in the home. This is what Carabinieri officers from the Naples Central Company's Operations Unit discovered during a search of the home of Alessio Ragosta, a 27-year-old (born in 1999) resident in the Spanish Quarter and already known to law enforcement.

The operation concluded with the arrest of the young man, charged with illegal possession of a clandestine firearm. The weapon and bullets were seized. After on-site investigations, Ragosta was transferred to Poggioreale prison. The gun will now undergo ballistic tests to determine whether it had been used in previous crimes or other offenses.

The operation is part of the effort to combat illegal gun possession in the most crime-ridden neighborhoods of central Naples.

I agree a little, but I don't want to judge immediately; the investigation should continue and the details will be published later; if the gun really has a scratched serial number, we need to understand where it came from and who could have had it; the community deserves clear answers.

I'm not sure what to think about this whole affair, the news seems strange to me but also understandable: in Spanish neighborhoods life is difficult and weapons are often found in circulation, the police have done their duty but doubts remain about how the weapon was hidden and if there are other connections, we hope for ballistic tests to clarify everything.
