According to investigators, the incident is part of the activities of the Picca-Di Martino clan, active in Teverola, Carinaro, and surrounding towns.
This morning, Carabinieri officers from the Caserta Provincial Command's investigative unit, coordinated by the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate, executed a pre-trial detention order issued by the investigating judge. The two suspects are held responsible for serious crimes against the person and related to weapons, aggravated by mafia methods and the intent to facilitate the criminal organization.
The victim was reportedly stabbed in the face with a knife, sustaining permanent injuries. According to the investigation, this act was not an isolated incident but rather part of a specific strategy. "The criminal action was apparently aimed at strengthening the gang's control of the territory," the statement from the Carabinieri reads, "which is capable of imposing itself with particularly violent methods."
The two arrested individuals were previously detained for a similar order executed in September 2024, as part of the same investigation. The investigation also revealed the availability and circulation of a firearm, used and carried in public on multiple occasions before being transferred to another individual.
