Naples – Yesterday evening, the State Police arrested a 50-year-old Neapolitan man, already known to law enforcement, for unlawful possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. Officers from the Montecalvario Police Station, engaged in territorial control operations, observed the suspect and a buyer exchanging a banknote for a small package on Via San Liborio.

The police intervened promptly and arrested both men: the dealer was found in possession of 65 euros, believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity, while the buyer had the dose he had just purchased with him.

The suspect was arrested by the officers; the buyer, however, was fined for illegal possession of narcotics for personal use.

I think the police were right to intervene, but the procedure seemed too rushed, and the arrested man was already known, so why didn't they check first? The buyer only had one dose, and €65 seems like a small sum; the matter remains confusing, and even the neighborhood is tired.
