Naples – The State Police continues its commitment to monitoring the city to ensure compliance with current regulations and the protection of the law. Yesterday evening, a targeted operation near Corso Garibaldi uncovered the irregular management of entertainment activities within a commercial establishment.

The dynamics of the intervention

The operation was triggered when officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, passing through the area, noticed a man's suspicious behavior. The man, attempting to evade a potential arrest, quickly took refuge inside a building.

The police intervened promptly, stopping the suspect at the entrance: the man was found in possession of €535. Inside the establishment, the officers found two customers using entertainment equipment.

The irregularities found
From the technical investigations carried out on site, it emerged that:

There were 10 slot machines installed in the premises.

The devices were missing the necessary identification numbers.

The devices were not connected to the Customs and Monopolies Agency's computer network.

Following investigations, the business manager, a 52-year-old Neapolitan with a criminal record, was charged with illegal gambling. At the same time, the two patrons present (aged 60 and 54, respectively) were charged with participating in unauthorized gaming sessions.

The entire commercial area and the ten non-compliant machines were seized by the competent authorities. This activity is part of ongoing prevention efforts aimed at combating widespread illegality and protecting the legal public gaming sector.

The article is useful, but many doubts and a lack of clarity remain: the 10 slot machines were without identification numbers and not connected to the network. Why don't they explain how the activity worked? The agents stopped the OMM with 535 euros, but they don't say where the money came from or whether they had it legally. We hope the checks continue to uphold legality.
