Law enforcement conducted a raid in Aiello del Sabato, in the province of Avellino, where a business was suspended following a series of checks aimed at protecting public health and ensuring compliance with labor regulations. The operation involved Carabinieri from the Solofra Company, along with the Labor Inspectorate, with the support of staff from the Local Health Authority (ASL) and the Italian Society of Authors and Publishers (SIAE).
During the inspection, serious hygiene and sanitation deficiencies were discovered within the establishment in relation to the preparation and serving of food and beverages. This situation, according to the findings, was also accompanied by workplace safety irregularities. The inspectors noted the absence of a risk assessment document and a lack of staff training in workplace health and safety.
The situation was further complicated by the discovery of three workers employed without proper contracts, a circumstance that contributed to prompting immediate action against the manager.
Following the investigation, administrative fines totaling over €16 were imposed, in addition to statutes of limitations totaling approximately €24. The owner was also reported at large to the Avellino Public Prosecutor's Office.
The cumulative number of violations ultimately led to the suspension of operations, as part of a regulatory effort aimed at decisively combating both irregular work and situations potentially dangerous to consumer health.
