Capaccio. An accident occurred this evening along the Cilento coast, specifically in the waters of Capaccio Paqestum. Shortly after 7:00 PM this evening, a man fell into the sea while paragliding over the coast. Several people on the beach jumped into the water to save him.

The accident occurred in the Laura area near the Sirena pier.

Rescue operations were activated. Carabinieri arrived on site by land and the Coast Guard arrived by sea. While the man was rescued with considerable difficulty, two of the people who had dived into the sea to retrieve him were swept out to sea by the current.

They were recovered after half an hour by the Coast Guard patrol boat and taken to the hospital in Agropoli.

Serious news, but not entirely clear. I read that the man fell into the sea while paragliding, but there's confusion about the location. It's said to be Paqestum and the La Ura area near Molo Sirena. Some people jumped in and were then swept away by the current; the coast guard rescued them after half an hour. We hope everyone is safe and that the rescuers did their best.
