The Ministry of Defense has been hit by two sentences issued by different courts, but agree in identifying the responsibility of the Administration. The Civil Court of Rome initially awarded compensation of more than one million euros to the family, to which was added a further compensation of 168 thousand euros ordered by the Lazio Regional Administrative Court. But the legal battle did not end in the courtrooms of the capital: The Court of Cassation has in fact overturned previous denials regarding one of the victim's daughters. The woman, resident in Cremona but originally from Caserta, she had been excluded from compensation because she was not a dependent of her father for tax purposes. The Supreme Court has however established that the damage caused by the loss of the emotional bond is independent of the fiscal parameters, referring the case to the Court of Appeal of Brescia for a new trial.
The president of the ONA, the lawyer Ezio Bonanni, he recalled with emotion the last moments of the soldier's life, marked by the awareness of a sealed fate. «I remember C.C. "He was seriously ill.
