Castellammare – A brutal attack, initially disguised as a domestic incident, has escalated into attempted murder. This morning, Carabinieri officers from the Castellammare di Stabia Company arrested a man, following a pre-trial detention order issued by the preliminary investigations judge of the Torre Annunziata Court, on charges of attempting to kill his brother.

The investigation began on the night between February 6th and 7th, when the victim was rushed to the city hospital with a serious head injury, initially attributed to an accidental fall at home.

"I Didn't Fall": The Story That Triggered the Investigation

The truth was revealed by the injured man himself, who told the doctors a completely different version: no fall, but a violent attack at the hands of his brother.

A statement that prompted health workers to immediately alert the Carabinieri, triggering a thorough investigation coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office.

Hit with a chair after an argument

The investigations allowed us to reconstruct the dynamics of the events: at the height of an argument over trivial matters, the suspect allegedly hit his brother on the head with a metal chair, causing him a very serious head injury.
The consequences were devastating: the victim underwent several life-saving surgeries and remains hospitalized in critical condition.

A climate of tension and previous attacks

The investigation revealed a severely deteriorated family situation. The conflicts arose from financial claims related to the deceased parents' home, where the victim lived.

This was not an isolated incident: as early as December 2025, the man allegedly attacked his brother, causing injuries that required medical attention. On that occasion, the victim confided in her family about her fears for her safety, even considering filing a criminal complaint, which was never formally filed.

The attack weapon was found

During the search conducted today at the suspect's home, officers found and seized the chair believed to be compatible with the weapon used in the crime. Further technical tests will now be performed on the evidence.

Following the formal procedures, the man was transferred to the "G. Salvia" prison in Naples-Poggioreale, where he remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
Investigations are continuing to clarify every further detail of a story marked by violence and family tension that resulted in bloodshed.

This is a very serious matter; I don't know how to describe it. The family seemed divided over the house and the bills, and the two brothers argued often. The victim said he hadn't fallen but had been hit with a chair; doctors performed lifesaving surgery. Many questions remain about how all this happened.
