Avelliuni – A significant procedural breakthrough has been reached in the case involving Sabato Ferrante, a 28-year-old native of Altavilla Irpina. The Naples Review Court, granting the request submitted by his lawyers, Vittorio Fucci and Sabato Graziano, has ordered the young man's release from prison, granting him the less punitive measure of house arrest.

The evidentiary framework and the objections

Ferrante, already known to law enforcement and related to Roberto Marino—a prominent figure in local drug trafficking—is at the center of a complex investigation conducted by the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA). The investigating team, coordinated by public prosecutors Henry John Woodcock and Gabriella Di Lauro, is charging the young man with attempted aggravated extortion, assault, and illegal possession of a weapon.

The investigators' reconstruction

According to the prosecution's theory, Ferrante allegedly carried out an intimidating operation targeting a man living in Benevento. At the heart of the case is an outstanding debt of approximately €32.500, which, according to investigations, can be traced back to the supply of narcotics.

The incident under investigation allegedly occurred inside the victim's home: there, the suspect, accompanied by an accomplice who allegedly acted as security with the support of an automatic weapon, allegedly exerted violent pressure to obtain payment of the debt. The medical reports attached to the case report injuries and a head trauma suffered by the victim as a result of the attack.

From wiretaps to the court's decision

The case against the 28-year-old from Irpinia is based on a substantial body of evidence, including wiretaps and wiretaps, as well as statements made by the victim. Despite the seriousness of the charges, the defense strategy implemented by attorneys Fucci and Graziano convinced the Review Court judges to reconsider the precautionary measures.

With today's decision, Ferrante will be released from detention and transferred to his home, pending further developments in the judicial process, which will determine definitive responsibility for the alleged facts.

It seems to me that the situation is still confusing. The judges have decided to release him, but there are still some open questions. There is a lot of evidence, but it's not enough to convince anyone. Let's wait for the trials and see if the truth comes out without first judging the facts.
