Forio – The Carabinieri of the Forio Station, in collaboration with the Labor Inspectorate, conducted a wide-ranging, targeted operation to combat undeclared work and verify compliance with workplace health and safety regulations in the island's commercial establishments. Two businesses were inspected.
Both investigations revealed numerous irregularities: structural and organizational irregularities in the workplace, lack of staff training, and, in particular, the employment of a completely undeclared worker. The owners of both companies were reported to the judicial authorities for non-compliant workplaces, failure to train workers, and failure to provide health surveillance.
In addition to these charges, both men were immediately suspended from their business activities due to undocumented work, along with an administrative fine of approximately €8 each. This action is part of a broader enforcement effort the Carabinieri are carrying out across the country to protect workers and ensure fair competition between businesses, firmly cracking down on all forms of exploitation and violations of safety regulations.
