Giugliano – A 49-year-old man has been reported to the Judicial Authorities by the Pozzuoli Forestry Carabinieri for the crime of littering. The incident occurred in the countryside of the municipality of Giugliano in Campania, along Via Alifana, an area already monitored by law enforcement due to recurring incidents of illegal dumping.
The images recorded by the video surveillance systems positioned by the military allowed them to reconstruct the dynamics: two individuals got out of a vehicle and quickly abandoned a bathtub containing hazardous waste, including mixed building materials and sheathing, on the side of the road.

Subsequent investigations led to the identification of the driver of the vehicle, who was found responsible for the abandonment. The man was located and reported to the competent judicial authorities. At the same time, the officers imposed an administrative fine of €1.984 for violation of the Highway Code, with the vehicle being seized. Investigative efforts to identify the second individual involved are ongoing.
The illegal dumping of waste, particularly of special materials such as construction materials, constitutes a criminal and administrative offense. Authorities are strengthening local surveillance with targeted video surveillance systems to combat this phenomenon and protect environmental safety and decorum.
