An operation to combat drug trafficking concluded with the arrest of two people. Carabinieri from the Castello di Cisterna Investigative Unit arrested Francesco Di Palo, 52, and Berardino Esattore, 31, both local residents and already known to law enforcement.
Officers, stationed at a road checkpoint in the area between Grumo Nevano and Orta di Atella, ordered a Fiat Panda to stop. Di Palo was driving, while Esattore was a passenger. During a personal search, the Carabinieri found 17 crack cocaine, 18 cocaine, and €500 in cash on the 52-year-old, believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity.
The operation continued with a house search at Esattore's home in Grumo Nevano, where the military seized a further 104 doses of cocaine and 47 doses of crack.
The two men were arrested in flagrante delicto and taken to prison. They are now at the disposal of the judicial authorities, awaiting trial. This operation confirms the ongoing commitment of the Carabinieri of the Castello di Cisterna Group to combat drug trafficking in the area.
