The Carabinieri conducted a turbulent operation in the Caserta area, where a report of a domestic dispute escalated into violence. The incident occurred in Mondragone, on the Domitian coast, where a 37-year-old man was arrested after attacking officers.
According to the reconstruction, the Carabinieri of the local Territorial Unit, arriving at the indicated residence, found themselves confronted by a clearly agitated individual. The man, armed with a shovel, apparently reacted without hesitation, striking the officers: one sustained injuries to the nose, the other to the ribs.
To contain the situation and avoid more serious consequences, the officers used a taser, using a dart that hit the attacker in the abdominal and groin area, allowing him to be immobilized.
The 37-year-old was subsequently taken to the hospital for tests: no physical consequences related to the use of the device were found. Following the investigation, he was arrested on charges of assault and resisting a public officer and transferred to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison.
The two injured soldiers were treated and their lives are not in danger.
