Napoli – He returned earlier than expected and now wants to be a key player in the final stretch of the season. Kevin De Bruyne has put his injury behind him and is optimistic about SSC Napoli's European run.

Speaking to Radio Crc, the Belgian midfielder took stock of the team's current form and the prospects for the end of the championship.

"We've picked up a lot of points in recent games, even though we didn't manage to get the three points in Parma," he explains. "Since I've been back, I've felt something different: the atmosphere is more positive. There were a difficult period, but we fought back. Now we have to keep winning if we want to qualify for next season's Champions League."

The former Manchester City playmaker also emphasized his satisfaction with his recovery after a long layoff. "I feel good, I'm back earlier than expected. At the start of the season, I played a lot of games, then the injury came. Now I'm doing well and I'm really happy."

The comparison between Serie A and the Premier League

In his speech, De Bruyne also focused on the differences between Italian and English football.

"Serie A is very different from the Premier League," he observes. "Even when I played at City, many teams would play against us with a low block because it was difficult to press us. When that happens, you have to find the right spaces, and unfortunately, we didn't manage that against Parma."

According to the Belgian midfielder, the main difference is the pace and tactical approach: "In Italy, many teams play similarly and often cancel each other out. In England, however, you find very different styles: teams that play man-to-man, others that defend deep or press high. Here, however, you often see formations with a five-man defense, like 5-3-2 or 5-4-1."

The impact with Naples

Finally, De Bruyne spoke about settling into the Azzurri dressing room. "I found an excellent group and was surprised by the quality of the players. I came from a team I knew very well, and it wasn't easy to change, but here they welcomed me very well, and I immediately felt part of the group."

Regarding labels and nicknames, like the alleged "Fab Four," the Belgian prefers to stay focused on the pitch: "I'm not interested in names. Sometimes there's too much noise surrounding the team. What matters is that there's a lot of quality on the pitch: these players have done well in the past, they're doing well now, and they've helped me improve."

It seems to me that DeBruyne came back early and the team seems changed, but I don't understand how this works in the long run; they all play together in a low block and we can't find the right spaces, the rhythm is different and Italian football seems more tactical but less varied, calm and continuity are needed.
