This measure is purely precautionary and does not affect other products from the chain or the entire Deluxe line. The goal is to protect consumers without causing unnecessary alarm.

What to do if you have already purchased the product

The company has withdrawn the packages from the refrigerators of its stores. However, anyone who still has batch LC22606501 is advised not to consume the product and to return it to any Lidl supermarket. A refund or replacement is available.

Listeria: the health risks

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can contaminate fish, meat, and raw vegetables. Unlike other pathogens, it survives and multiplies even at low temperatures (in the refrigerator). The infection, called listeriosis, causes flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, muscle aches) or gastrointestinal upset. In healthy adults, it is generally mild, but can be serious for the elderly, young children, frail individuals, and pregnant women. For this reason, authorities immediately initiate recalls as soon as contamination is suspected.

I bought this salmon last week, but I don't know if it was from that batch. The ministry is recalling it, but they don't clearly explain how to return the packaging. A refund should be issued immediately. I hope the supermarket checks the products and informs consumers more clearly and quickly.
