In the early hours of the morning, the Carabinieri of the Mondragone Territorial Unit executed a precautionary measure order issued by the preliminary investigations judge of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
A total of seven people are involved: one is being held in prison, three are under house arrest, one is banned from residing in the municipality of Mondragone, and two are required to report to the judicial police.
The suspects are held responsible, to varying degrees, for the possession and trafficking of narcotics.
The survey
The investigation began in October 2024, following a citizen's report of a thriving drug dealing ring in the Mondragon area, largely linked to members of the same family.
The investigations allowed us to reconstruct a consolidated system: individuals already known to law enforcement obtained their supplies from a supplier in the North Naples area, who was already detained and now faces a further precautionary measure.
The drug “market”
According to the findings, the home of the head of the family – who was under house arrest at the time – had been transformed into a real sales point.
The buyers would go directly to the house to purchase cocaine and crack, while in other cases the dealers themselves would deliver the drugs to different areas of the city.
During a search, the same man under house arrest allegedly ingested part of the narcotic substance to avoid seizure.
Chases and arrests
During the four-month investigation, dozens of drug deals were documented, which were crucial to identifying the responsibilities of those involved.
As early as January 2025, two of the suspects had been arrested along with the girlfriend of one of them after a chase through the city streets. On that occasion, officers seized a purse containing approximately €1,000 in cash, about thirty pre-packaged doses of cocaine and crack, and two blocks of cocaine yet to be divided.
