A huge open-air volleyball court in the heart of the city. Tomorrow, starting at 11:00 a.m., Piazza Municipio in Naples will transform into a large sports arena to host the Naples leg of Volley S3, the national project dedicated to promoting volleyball among young people.
The initiative will bring thousands of children and young people to the city center, engaging in a day of sport, fun, and social inclusion. The special guest will be world champion and longtime Italian volleyball icon Andrea Lucchetta, who, along with his team, will lead the activities and meet with participants to instill the values of teamwork and sharing in the younger generations. The city councilor for Sport will also be present in the square.
The event will be divided into two main sections to encourage local participation. The morning will be dedicated to schools: students from Neapolitan schools will have the opportunity to explore volleyball through fun and educational programs designed to explore the fundamentals of the sport.
In the afternoon, however, it's time for sports clubs. Young athletes from Campanian clubs will compete on the courts set up in the square in a festive and participatory atmosphere, celebrating their belonging to the world of volleyball.
The day will focus primarily on the theme of inclusion. Alongside Spikeball activities, special attention will be given to Sitting Volleyball S3 and Sitting Spikeball, disciplines that allow players to play while seated and provide an equal sporting experience for everyone, breaking down physical barriers and promoting sport as a tool for integration.
The event is part of the calendar of initiatives organized as part of Naples European Capital of Sport 2026, which will bring events and demonstrations dedicated to sports and youth participation to the Campania capital throughout the year.
