The situation was brought back under control only with the arrival of the State Police, alerted by the deputy's escort, who allowed them to disperse the group and restore law and order on the beach.

The violence of these gangs is out of control. They are the offspring of a Camorra culture that inherits the worst codes of behavior. In addition to the necessary severity of the state, parents must be reminded of their responsibilities: those who bring these children into the world cannot pass their educational failures on to the community.
The MP then reiterated his disappointment over the military's inaction on the scene, calling it a demonstration of "total inadequacy in the management of public order."
