Classical Neapolitan song proves to be more than just a memory, but a living force capable of moving residents and tourists alike. This is confirmed by the success of the permanent festival hosted at the Monumental Complex of Santa Maria La Nova, directed by Giuseppe Reale, which has recorded an uninterrupted string of sold-out performances, confirming Gennaro Pisapia's cultural commitment.
The initiative, promoted by the Franco Smeraldo Music Association, found its ideal setting among the centuries-old architecture of the Complex, where 800th- and 900th-century masterpieces come back to life thanks to interpretations that combine philological rigor and popular passion. The audience is not just a spectator, but an active participant in the performances, singing along to the performances of Pisapia & Gruppo Smeraldo: Gennaro Pisapia (vocals), Giuseppe Carannante (clarinet), Michele Cordova (guitar), Alessandro Pignalosa (mandolin), Francopaolo Perreca (soprano saxophone and percussion), and Mario Carannante (cello and bass).
"The standing ovations every evening are the greatest reward for a project born three years ago with great sacrifice and immense enthusiasm," Pisapia commented. "Seeing so many people moved by our musical history shows that this culture, born in 1200 with "Jesce sole," is more alive than ever."
Interest in tradition is also reflected in the digital world: the weekly series on the history of Neapolitan song, curated by Gianmarco Cioffi (Shada), has reached its 22nd publication on social media, accumulating thousands of views and confirming the cultural curiosity of the modern public.
The next concert is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Antico Refettorio of the Monumental Complex of Santa Maria La Nova. Gates open at 7:30 PM and the show starts at 8:00 PM. Tickets are available online at Azzurro Service and Vivaticket. For information and reservations, call 379-1777405.

Interesting article, but the information is a bit confusing. The Neapolitan song seems lively, but the crowd is different, and some spectators don't understand the program. Seats are sold out, and there are still questions about tickets/online reservations. There are no specific times, and there are too many abbreviations in the lyrics, and some written dates are tacked on.
