Naples pays tribute to Aldo Giuffré, one of its most iconic figures, with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in the heart of the San Lorenzo neighborhood. The ceremony took place on Via del Sole, in front of number 6, in the presence of city officials, residents, and enthusiasts, in a moment of strong symbolic value for the city's cultural memory.

The initiative, promoted by the City of Naples, is part of a program dedicated to promoting toponymy and urban historical memory, with the aim of linking the city's places to the figures who have shaped their artistic and cultural identity.

The plaque was unveiled by Deputy Mayor Laura Lieto, Councilor for Urban Planning with responsibility for Toponymy, who celebrated the actor's legacy and emphasized the deep connection between Giuffré and Naples. "With this plaque, Naples is giving back a tangible sign of affection and gratitude to Aldo Giuffré," she declared, calling him "an ambassador of Neapolitan culture and irony to the world."

The memory of the actor, who passed away in 2010, is intertwined with the history of Italian theater and cinema. A highly versatile figure, Giuffré spanned decades of performance, collaborating with Eduardo's theater and also establishing himself on the big screen as a refined and recognizable performer.

The connection to the San Lorenzo neighborhood is no coincidence: the actor spent his childhood there, near the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella, in a family deeply connected to music and the tradition of the Teatro San Carlo. A connection with the city that, as mentioned during the ceremony, has never been broken.

Family members also attended the memorial service. "Aldo was deeply attached to this city and this historic center, which he loved dearly," recalled his wife Elena Pranzo Zaccaria, emphasizing the sentimental value of the place chosen for public remembrance.
