The day's schedule includes the Pope's arrival by helicopter at the Rotonda Diaz in the early afternoon, returning from his morning visit to Pompeii. From there, the Holy Father will move to the Cathedral for a meeting with the clergy, welcomed by the music of musical bands composed of young Neapolitans. The climax of the event will take place in Piazza del Plebiscito, where thirty thousand faithful are expected for the eagerly awaited exchange between the Pope and the younger generations. To ensure everyone can see the celebrations, two giant screens will be installed both in the square and near the Cathedral, while the Prefecture will host the press room for accredited media.
"There is great collegiality among the institutions," Prefect Michele di Bari noted with satisfaction, highlighting the concerted effort involving the Fire Department, police forces, and volunteers to ensure the safety and smooth running of the visit. The logistical complexity doesn't end in the capital: the Prefecture will also be responsible for managing the Pompeii event and, a few days later, Leo XIV's subsequent visit to Acerra, in the diocese headed by Monsignor Antonio Di Donna.
The city center streets will be subject to strict traffic restrictions and strategic closures to allow the papal procession to pass safely. Naples is therefore preparing for an afternoon of faith and exceptional mobilization, balancing the security needs of a Pontiff with the eagerness of thousands of citizens to participate in a historic gathering. "A great effort is underway on everyone's part to complete the project," the organizers reiterated, as the preparatory work now enters the final operational phase.
