Naples – Chilling details are emerging from the investigation into the murder of Fabio Ascione, the 20-year-old who died at dawn on April 7 at Villa Betania Hospital. According to the Carabinieri of the Naples-Poggioreale Operational Unit, coordinated by the Anti-Mafia Directorate, the young man was not only the victim of enemy fire, but also of an incredible system of internal complicity.

The gun used by Francesco Pio Autiero (23 years old) to fire the gun was reportedly handed over by a cousin of the victim.

The attempt to evade the cameras

The entire scene was captured by the video surveillance systems of a bar, the scene of the head-on collision with the Veneruso-Rea criminal group from Volla. Despite Ascione's cousin's clumsy attempt to conceal the passing of the weapon, the police managed to capture the crucial frames.

Autiero, a few minutes after the shooting of the Volla youths, grabbed the gun he had received from Ascione's relative and boasted about what he had done, accidentally shot the twenty-year-old Fabio Ascione. The fatal bullet was therefore fired from the same gun his cousin had kept and then put into circulation that same night.
