Naples – Chilling details are emerging from the investigation into the murder of Fabio Ascione, the 20-year-old who died at dawn on April 7 at Villa Betania Hospital. According to the Carabinieri of the Naples-Poggioreale Operational Unit, coordinated by the Anti-Mafia Directorate, the young man was not only the victim of enemy fire, but also of an incredible system of internal complicity.

The gun used by Francesco Pio Autiero (23 years old) to fire the gun was reportedly handed over by a cousin of the victim.

The attempt to evade the cameras

The entire scene was captured by the video surveillance systems of a bar, the scene of the head-on collision with the Veneruso-Rea criminal group from Volla. Despite Ascione's cousin's clumsy attempt to conceal the passing of the weapon, the police managed to capture the crucial frames.

The video clearly shows the young man handing the instrument of death into the hands of Autiero and his seventeen-year-old accomplice, just moments before the inferno of lead was unleashed.

The crossfire and the fatal mistake

What was supposed to be a show of strength against his rivals turned into a domestic tragedy. Autiero, a few minutes after the shooting of the Volla youths, grabbed the gun he had received from Ascione's relative and boasted about what he had done, accidentally shot the twenty-year-old Fabio Ascione. The fatal bullet was therefore fired from the same gun his cousin had kept and then put into circulation that same night.

The macabre paradox of fate

There is an element that transcends the judicial chronicle and slips into Greek drama, tinged with an irony as tragic as it is macabre: the weapon that took Fabio's life passed through the hands of the one who, by blood and name, should have protected him.

In this slice of urban crime, the concepts of "protection" and "family" are completely overturned. The cousin, acting as the clan's gunsmith or simply an accomplice, has effectively armed the hand that, through incompetence or chaos, killed his own blood. It's a terrible moral short circuit: the gun is "guarded" like a treasure or a means of territorial defense, but ends up becoming the means of involuntary self-destruction.

Fate has set a cruel trap: if that cousin hadn't handed over that gun, if he hadn't tried to facilitate Autiero's shooting, Fabio Ascione would still be alive. In this context, "blood" is no longer a saving bond, but a tragic conductor of death, closing the circle between the one who supplies the bullet and the one who receives it.

I'm reading carefully, but I'm having trouble understanding all the details; the video and description raise many questions. I'm also puzzled as to how the gun could have been handed over to this young man. Perhaps there was pressure or a misjudgment, but it all seems confusing.

It seems to me that the matter is described in too much detail and the motive is not clear; it seems that a relative gave the gun, the situation seems like a terrible paradox but otherwise there are too many obscure points and the facts do not seem to align.
