Campania dominates the national rankings for millionaire wins. Naples, with 14 jackpots, is among the luckiest cities in Italy. Meanwhile, the prize pool rises to €151,7 million, rekindling hopes and superstitions among betting shops and players.

The connection between numbers, destiny and tradition

In Campania, the relationship with numbers goes far beyond mathematics. It's not just a question of probability: it's a true dialogue with destiny. Numbers become symbols, signals to be interpreted, often translated through the language of the Neapolitan Smorfia.

Dreams, chance encounters, and small episodes of everyday life are transformed into playable combinations. A popular tradition that blends superstition, ritual, and hope, it has accompanied players at betting shops across the region for decades.

It's no surprise, then, that Campania is Italy's luckiest region for SuperEnalotto jackpots.

So far, 19 “6s” have been achieved, a national record that distances Lazio, which has 16 wins, and Emilia-Romagna with 13.

Naples, the capital of jackpots

Within the region, Naples dominates the scene. The Neapolitan capital, along with Rome, is the Italian city that has celebrated the most jackpots, with a total of 14 wins.

A story that began in 1999 and culminated on May 10, 2024, when the city pulled off the biggest heist ever recorded in Campania: 101,5 million euros.

This is also the last win in Italy to exceed the one hundred million mark.

The iconic lottery shop on Via Toledo

The winning ticket was played at the “Bella 'mbriana” lottery shop, in the heart of Via Toledo, one of the busiest streets in the city.

Among residents, workers, and tourists, the flow of players has never stopped. This is what tobacconist's owner, Salvatore Gaspari, tells us, and he still remembers the impact of that million-dollar jackpot.

“The location of our business always guarantees us a lot of traffic, but the 2024 “6” has increased the number of customers even more,” he explains.

“Fortune has returned several times”

Even after some time, winnings continue to arrive at the betting shop, even if they are far from those record figures.

"There's been no shortage of major signings in the last two years," Gaspari says, "though none comparable to the €101,5 million. We hope the good fortune continues to come our way."

And he adds with a smile: "Maybe this time the lucky person will remember us, even if it's just a symbolic gesture. It would be nice to get another call with another big piece of news."

The 151 million jackpot rekindles the dream

Meanwhile, the hunt for the "6" continues. The jackpot for Saturday, April 18th's draw reached €151,7 million, a sum capable of sparking the imagination of millions of players.

The jackpot shines on the billboards of betting shops, attracting curious onlookers, tourists, and enthusiasts. Between statistical calculations and superstitious rituals, everyone regards that number as the dream of a lifetime.

And while some still consult the Smorfia to choose the right numbers, Campania remains there, at the top of the lucky rankings, perhaps ready to write another page in the history of SuperEnalotto.

Campania seems to be the queen of jackpots, but the numbers are presented confusingly. Napoli and Roma have 14 wins, but the count is wrong. People continue to play out of fear and superstition, and probability remains cold and distant.
