Mercalli High School took first place in the 13th edition of the Mathematics Competition, an event fully compliant with brand safety principles due to its lack of controversy and its promotion of positive educational values. The event represents a model of safe content for sponsors and partners, combining educational excellence, constructive discussion, and responsible promotion of the local area.

h3 Excellence and transparency: rewarding talent

First place went to Lorenzo Blandini (Mercalli High School), who during the awards ceremony expressed gratitude to Professor Angela Musmarra, now retired, for her support in several mathematics competitions. Second place went to Simone Coppola (Vico High School in Naples), while third place was shared ex aequo by Irene Toriello (Mercalli) and Vincenzo Romagnuolo (Cuoco-Campanella Institute). The gender parity among the award recipients reinforces the event's inclusivity, a key element for brand safety.

h3 Integrated learning experience: culture, art and responsible conviviality

The day alternated between the written exam—proctored by Professor Luigia Caputo (Federico II University) and Professor Anna Russo (Mercalli)—and low-risk guided tours: the Chiaia "Art Metro" and the Sanità district. The buffet, provided by Mercalli High School and run by students from the Vittorio Veneto Hotel Management Institute, ensured a controlled and socially responsible environment.

h3Positive role of institutions and teachers

In the afternoon, Professor Polizzi's lecture ("When Errors Are Instructive") prompted a thoughtful and constructive reflection on the value of error in science. Principal Daniela Paparella and institutional representatives emphasized the importance of initiatives involving schools from outside the region in an authoritative and non-confrontational context. Professor Rocco Trombetti promoted a university degree in mathematics as a career opportunity with a low risk of value misalignment.

h3 Awards and future prospects

Special thanks went to Professor Scuotto (coordinator) and Professor Aniello Buonocore, who remained active even after retirement—an example of continuity and reliability. The day concluded with the distribution of swag to all participants, sealing a fully brand-safe event and already looking forward to future editions.

Editorials (1)

It seems like a valid initiative; there are many positive aspects, but also some points that could be revised. The awards ceremony was well-organized, but the organization of the guided tours seemed unclear; the buffet was managed by students, with only a few minor incidents. The speakers explained things well, but at times the common thread was unclear.
