Naples – The shadow of the Amato-Pagano clan looms large. It's not the new that's advancing, then, but the old Camorra methods that are returning. This is the picture investigators have reconstructed to explain the dramatic "sweep" that took place on the evening of September 27, 2025, in Caivano's Parco Verde, when a group of armed motorcyclists rode through the neighborhood, firing several shots into the buildings.

Three precautionary prison measures were issued yesterday for that episode, signed by investigating judge Federica Girardi and executed by the Carabinieri.

The arrested were Antonio Cangiano, 41, Salvatore D'Arco, 27—already detained after being caught red-handed on March 26 in Caivano—and Michael Rossi, 23, also already under house arrest.

The three are charged with public intimidation with the use of weapons and illegal possession of weapons, crimes aggravated by mafia methods.

The motorcycle raid in the neighborhood

According to what was reconstructed during the investigation, that evening at least six motorcycles crossed the streets of the neighborhood, giving rise to a real show of force.

The action was carefully planned and carried out by at least a dozen people, although so far only three have been reached by the precautionary measure.

Fifteen shots were fired as the car passed through the neighborhood. However, officers from the Castello di Cisterna Carabinieri unit's survey unit managed to recover eight shell casings, which they found on the scene shortly after the shooting.

The role of the "bass player" in the Green Park

The investigation also revealed that one of the individuals involved—not currently under precautionary measures—lived right inside Parco Verde.

He was the one who welcomed the group of motorcyclists before the demonstration, providing directions on how to navigate the neighborhood streets and facilitating the demonstration.

This fact strengthens the investigators' thesis: the expedition was not improvised, but organized with the support of local contacts.

Family ties with clan environments

Among those arrested is Salvatore D'Arco, officially resident in Scampia, but related to Gennaro Sautto, brother of the boss Nicola Sautto, believed to be an ally of Domenico Ciccarelli.

A web of relationships that investigators believe confirms that the raid may have been carried out by people "lent" to the group, perhaps recruited and paid specifically to stage the display of armed force.

D'Arco, who until a few months ago had no criminal record, had already appeared in the District Anti-Mafia Directorate's correspondence, having been stopped several times in the company of individuals believed to be close to organized crime.

The hunt for the other participants

However, the investigators' work is not finished.
At least nine people were still missing from the roll call that evening in late September, almost all of whom had arrived from outside Caivano.

Individuals who – according to the investigative hypothesis – knowingly participated in the armed expedition, transforming the streets of Parco Verde into a theatre of blatant intimidation.

A message launched in the heart of the neighborhood and addressed both to rivals and to the State.
