It all started on Corso Vittorio Emanuele III. Officers from the local police station, during their routine patrol, encountered a scooter carrying the young man. Upon seeing the patrol car, the young man ignored the command to stop and hit the gas, launching a desperate escape. During the chase, the rider performed extremely risky maneuvers, darting through pedestrians and passing cars, seriously endangering traffic.
The rush ended when the police officers managed to block all escape routes and subdue him. The reason for the rush became clear during the search: the 25-year-old was concealing a 7,65 caliber Beretta pistol with the serial number erased. The weapon was not only ready for use, but also had a loaded cartridge, indicating a potential immediate danger. A total of five bullets were found in the magazine.
The young man, who already had a criminal record, was immediately arrested. In addition to being arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest, the 25-year-old was charged with receiving stolen goods, as he was unable to identify the gun's provenance. The weapon will now undergo ballistic tests to determine whether it was used in recent incidents of violence or intimidation in the area.
