Exceptional patrols were deployed in the hilly Vomero neighborhood, one of the city's main nightlife hotspots. Yesterday evening, State Police officers conducted a joint operation to secure the areas most frequented by young people and tourists.
The checks were carried out by officers from the Vomero, Vasto-Arenaccia, and Bagnoli police stations, with the support of the Guardia di Finanza, the Local Police, and staff from the ASL Napoli 1 Centro.
The checks focused on the most crowded areas of the neighborhood, particularly San Martino, Piazza Vanvitelli, Piazza Medaglie d'Oro, and along shopping and nightlife streets such as Via Luca Giordano, Via Scarlatti, and Via Falcone.
80 people and 24 traffic violations identified
During the operation, officers identified a total of 80 people, eight of whom were already known to law enforcement. They also checked 25 vehicles.
On the road safety front, 24 violations of the Highway Code were contested.
Inspections on premises: fines for hygiene and sanitation irregularities
The checks also included commercial businesses in the area. A total of 16 businesses were inspected.
Some owners were charged with several significant non-compliances. Specifically, one business was fined for irregularities related to the HACCP manual, which regulates food safety and hygiene.
The administrative fines imposed overall amount to approximately 2 thousand euros.
Two illegal parking attendants reported
During the service, two men were also reported after being caught again while practicing illegal parking.
Finally, the operators also checked eight people subject to restrictive measures or alternatives to detention, as part of checks on compliance with the provisions imposed by the judicial authority.
