Naples – A very tense morning unfolded outside the "D. Curtis" middle school this morning. A large group of parents gathered outside the school gates to protest the continued employment of a school assistant accused of alleged abuse against several students.
The mobilization, born out of the families' fear and anger, required the intervention of law enforcement and MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli (Green-Left Alliance), who was called upon by parents to support their fight for their children's safety.
The protest and the institutional intervention
According to those present, the protest was a last resort to highlight an incident that would profoundly shake the school community. Parents explained that only through this morning's demonstration and media pressure were they able to obtain concrete action from the school administration.
At the end of the meeting, the principal ordered the immediate suspension of the school assistant involved in the accusations.
The investigations of the Carabinieri
The case has now been formally handed over to the Carabinieri. They have already received reports from several families and have begun preliminary investigations to fully clarify the alleged events.
At the moment, the judicial authorities are examining the testimonies and accounts of the minors to verify the validity of the accusations. The investigators are maintaining the utmost confidentiality, given the sensitive nature of the case, which involves school-age children.
