Frattamaggiore– An attempted robbery was foiled this morning at a Banca di Credito Popolare branch in Frattamaggiore, in the province of Naples. Two men, aged 57 and 69, were arrested by the Carabinieri on charges of aggravated robbery.
According to the reconstruction, the two had managed to enter the bank shortly after 10 a.m., forcing the manager, a cashier, and a customer to follow them into the area reserved for the safe, waiting for it to open automatically.
The intervention of the police
The alarm was raised by video surveillance staff who, remotely monitoring the images, identified an anomalous situation inside the branch on Via Vittorio Emanuele.
The Carabinieri quickly arrived on the scene and arrested the two men while they were still in an office of the bank.
The operation concluded without any injuries to those involved. The two arrested were taken to the police station and remain at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
