Naples: The alleged perpetrators of the Marianella attack have been arrested.

The fight against crime in the northern area of ​​Naples marks a new milestone in the pursuit of legality. On April 28, in the Miano neighborhood, Carabinieri officers from the Naples Vomero Company's Operational Unit executed an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office (DDA) against two individuals seriously suspected of attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons. The charges are aggravated in accordance with Article 416-bis, 1 of the Criminal Code.

The reconstruction of the episode

At the center of the investigation is the wounding of Vincenzo Lo Russo, which occurred on April 17 in the "Siberia" neighborhood of the Marianella district. According to investigations, the attack was carried out in a particularly violent manner. Despite the victim's initial reticence, investigators were able to isolate the key moments of the attack: a seemingly cordial approach, sealed with a kiss, which quickly escalated into a physical assault involving the use of a helmet and the butt of a gun, culminating in the firing of several gunshots.

The role of technology and the possible motive

The Carabinieri, coordinated by the Naples Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA), employed modern investigative techniques and a careful analysis of the video surveillance systems in the area. These tools allowed them to reconstruct not only the stages of the attack, but also the movements of the suspects in the moments leading up to it. Regarding the motive, the evidence gathered suggests a previous altercation in prison, an incident that may have triggered the retaliation in the area.

Precautionary measures

Following the arrest, the Judicial Authority issued a precautionary custody order for the two individuals already identified and for a third person, who is currently unaccounted for. It is important to note that the proceedings are currently in the preliminary investigation phase: those subject to these measures are presumed innocent until a final determination of guilt is made in court, in order to protect the rights established by current law.
