Naples – In the early hours of last night, the Carabinieri of the Naples Investigative Unit completed a complex operation to combat illicit drug trafficking. At the request of the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA), the Preliminary Investigations Judge issued a precautionary detention order against 14 people.
The individuals involved are seriously suspected, to varying degrees, of criminal conspiracy aimed at trafficking and possession for the purpose of dealing in narcotics.

Today's operation represents the culmination of a complex investigative effort conducted by the Carabinieri between 2020 and 2023. Through complex technical investigations, investigators have delineated the profile of an alleged criminal subgroup that, according to the prosecution's hypotheses, is linked to the "Di Lauro" clan and led by Vincenzo Di Lauro.
The organization allegedly operated primarily in the Secondigliano area, but demonstrated the ability to extend its illicit activities to other areas of the city, establishing a stable structure for managing the drug market.
The alleged supply channels and seizures
The investigations allowed us to reconstruct the group's alleged movements in the two-year period 2019-2020. During this period, the organization allegedly flooded the drug dealing areas of Secondigliano and the Vasto-Arenaccia neighborhood with large quantities of narcotics.
The alleged supply route is attracting particular attention: investigators hypothesize that the drugs arrived in Naples through supply networks linked to Albanian criminal organizations, generating a vast illicit business. The strength of the prosecution's case is supported by the results obtained during the investigative phase, which has already led to the arrest of six people in flagrante delicto and the seizure of several kilograms of substances, including cocaine and hashish.
