Naples – A major operation coordinated by the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate began at dawn, resulting in the issuance of a precautionary warrant, signed by investigating judge Sabato Abagnale, against 22 people. The suspects are accused of being part of a criminal group of very young people, active in the San Giovanniello area and believed to be fully integrated into the Contini Camorra clan.
The investigating judge ordered six people to be jailed, while two others under investigation were banned from living in Campania. Among the prominent figures targeted by the order is Patrizio Bosti Jr., just 23 years old, considered by investigators to be the group's leader and decision-maker, the namesake nephew of the boss currently under the 41-bis regime and a founder of the Secondigliano Alliance.
Illicit activities and territorial control
According to investigations and a law enforcement press release, the organization was involved in a variety of illicit activities in the Vasto, Arenaccia, and San Carlo all'Arena neighborhoods. The group not only controlled the area, but also financed its coffers through predatory crimes—such as robberies, muggings, and fraud against the elderly—committed not only in several Italian cities but also in Spain.
The proceeds from these activities, according to the charges, were reinvested in the purchase of weapons of war and to ensure the maintenance of their members in prison. Investigators emphasize the high level of dangerousness of the suspects, evidenced by their "constant search for additional weapons necessary to assert their territorial hegemony" and the unscrupulousness of their actions.
Bosti Jr.'s Role and Recent Judicial Developments
Patrizio Bosti Jr., the namesake grandson of the clan's founder, was already known to the judicial press. Already detained for other charges, in October 2024 he was issued a precautionary measure for the unauthorized use of a cell phone while incarcerated in Poggioreale prison. Investigations by the Flying Squad had determined that, between March and November 2023, the young man had posted videos on the TikTok platform flaunting his clan membership in defiance of the institutions.
The 23-year-old had also been arrested following a serious incident of domestic violence that occurred in May 2022 at a restaurant on Via dei Tribunali. He was placed under house arrest for those incidents, but briefly disappeared before being tracked down in August 2024. A few days ago, in connection with the cell phone in his cell and his escape from house arrest, the Naples Surveillance Court allowed him to serve the remainder of his sentence (six months, following a two-year sentence in which the investigating judge ruled out the aggravating circumstance of mafia involvement) under house arrest.

This is a serious piece of news, but it seems confusing and full of gaps. They mention Giovanni and the clan, but they don't explain how they discovered the crimes. There are likely witnesses or videos, but they don't say. The reporting should be clearer and more careful.
