Pavia – "I saw Alberto and Chiara's video." These are the words that allegedly incriminate Andrea Sempio, intercepted on April 14, 2025. Tg1 revealed the news on its social media channels.

According to the Pavia Prosecutor's Office and the Milan Carabinieri, these revelations made in the car while he was talking to himself would be crucial to reconstruct the motive for the murder of Chiara Poggi which took place in 2007. Sempio is in the car, talking to himself, we are about a month from the day he learned of the new investigations on him.

A wiretap in the car captured the 38-year-old's words. In a soliloquy, Sempio reportedly said he had called Chiara before the murder, attempting to approach her. The audio with this intercept was reportedly played to Marco Poggi this morning by the Carabinieri.

"For those who have reconstructed the investigation step by step," we read on Tg1's social media channels, the motive for the Garlasco crime is also linked to "the intimate videos between Alberto and Chiara." "The investigators, in their reconstructions, explain that it is likely that the motive for the crime is triggered by infatuation, by the possible sexual perspective projected onto Chiara, by the assumption that the video footage itself represented proof of the girl's lack of inhibitions, by the approach taking advantage of Marco Poggi's absence.

. And above all, the fact that the girl was alone at home in those August days." From here, investigators maintain, "the refusal" and "Chiara's reaction" arose, and then "the murderous fury." Thus, Tg1 further reveals, "what is being defined as a brutal 'domino effect'."

According to Tg1, in the wiretap, Sempio is heard saying he accidentally called the Poggi house to see if Marco was home and that he spoke to Chiara for a few seconds, asking when his brother would be back. “Of the three calls… she said… 'I don't want to talk to you (imitating a female voice) and… it was like I said 'can we see you' (referring to his own response, ed.) (then imitating a female voice) and she hung up on me… And she hung up the phone… Oh, there you are, acting tough (laughs, ed.) but I never saw it that way, the interest wasn't mutual, damn it. She says 'I can't find the video anymore' (in a completely wrong tone of voice) then (changing her voice) I brought the video.” And again: “he knows it too… Because I saw… from his cell phone… Because Chiara didn't… with that video and I have it (low voice) in my pen, that's fine, damn it”.

These very wiretaps were listened to by Marco Poggi during his interrogation to gather evidence to support the investigation's findings. Marco's testimony, heard today at the Pavia Public Prosecutor's Office, was subsequently classified.

I'm not sure what to think about this story. The article puts a lot of things together, but it's not entirely clear. The wiretaps seem important, but solid evidence is needed. I don't understand how those conclusions were reached. The magistrates need to clarify the details, and the witnesses should be heard more calmly.
