Canale 21 has announced special programming for Friday to mark Pope Leo XIV's Pastoral Visit to Pompeii and Naples, with a long, non-stop live broadcast starting at 6:15 a.m. that will accompany viewers throughout the day. The station's cameras will provide continuous, live coverage from strategic locations, offering comprehensive coverage and allowing viewers to experience every moment of this special day: the helicopter's departure from Rome, the arrival in Pompeii, the encounter with the vulnerable, the Holy Mass and the Prayer, the journey to Naples, the prayer in the Cathedral, the embrace with the City, and the departure from Naples to the Vatican.

Exactly one year after his election, the Pope will land in Pompeii, welcomed by Archbishop Tommaso Caputo, to celebrate Mass and the Prayer to the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary. He will then fly back to Naples: at the Rotonda Diaz, the Archbishop of Naples, Cardinal Mimmo Battaglia, will welcome the Pontiff. He will then travel by popemobile to Naples Cathedral for a meeting with the clergy and consecrated women, and immediately thereafter to Piazza del Plebiscito for a meeting with the city.

To begin the great anticipation, on Thursday at 19 pm, there's a special preview of "Waiting for Pope Leo" on Channel 21, with two hours of live coverage from Rome, Pompeii, Naples Cathedral, and Piazza del Plebiscito. The 23 pm VG21 will also be entirely dedicated to a special night preceding a historic day.

"For Canale 21, fifty years after its founding," says publisher Paolo Torino, "this live broadcast represents not only a major editorial commitment, but also confirmation of our commitment to serving citizens, reporting in real time on the events that shape community life."

The live broadcast will be visible in Campania on channel 10 dgt, on channel 19 in Lazio and worldwide with streaming at www.canale21.it.

Editorials (1)

It seems like an interesting program, but not everything is clear to me; the description is long and often confusing. The nonstop live broadcast may be useful for those who follow it all day, but not for those with work or family commitments. The footage promises a lot, but I don't know if it will be truly detailed and precise.
