In Caivano the Guardia di Finanza has put seals on aworkshop A completely illegal mechanical plant, which also served as an uncontrolled dumping ground for polluting materials. The operation, conducted by the military of the Naples Provincial Command as part of intensified economic and environmental controls in the area, led to the person responsible being reported.
Finance officers from the Frattamaggiore Group raided an area of approximately 60 square meters, catching the owner red-handed while he was repairing a car. The investigation quickly revealed that the business was being operated in complete absence of the required administrative permits. In addition to the tax and administrative violations, the officers were also concerned about the serious risk to the surrounding environment.
Inside the premises, the Guardia di Finanza found a large quantity of hazardous and special waste. Among the seized materials were used oil, chemical solvents, and used spare parts, all stored irregularly in unsuitable spaces and, according to investigators, ready for illegal disposal.
Upon completion of the operation, the entire area, work equipment, and waste were seized. The owner of the ghost workshop was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Naples North for violation of environmental regulations. As required by law, the suspect is presumed innocent until a final determination of guilt is made in court.

It seems like a serious situation; the Guardia di Finanza (Financial Police) managed to intervene, but it remains to be seen how the waste was disposed of and whether there are other similar illegal workshops in the area. I hope the authorities will conduct more frequent checks without creating unnecessary alarm.
