Naples is preparing to host a weekend of energy and urban culture. On June 6th and 7th, Piazza Municipio will become the hub of two Red Bull events that will bring some of Italy's top freestyle football and street dance talents to the heart of the city.

The event will combine two distinct disciplines, yet share the same values: individual expression, spectacle, creativity, and audience engagement. This combination finds its ideal setting in Naples, thanks to a popular tradition that has always transformed streets and squares into meeting places, competition, and entertainment.

The Red Bull King D'O Rione final

Kicking off the weekend, on Saturday, June 6th, will be the final of Red Bull King D'O Rione, the street football tournament inspired by the "Tedesca Napoletana" tradition. After more than a month of qualifying matches played in the city's neighborhoods, the participating teams will battle it out for the title in Piazza Municipio.

The challenges will begin at 5:00 PM and continue until 11:30 PM, transforming the square into a large urban arena. Matteo Procentese will narrate the event, while the jury will be composed of some of the protagonists of the Naples Futsal: Guilhermão, Borruto, Bortoletto, Perugino and Japa Duarte.

The initiative aims to promote football as a language of social aggregation and territorial identity, placing neighborhoods and their communities at the center.

Sunday is all about street dance

The following day, Sunday, June 7, the baton will pass to dance with the National Final of Red Bull Dance Your Style 2026, the international competition featuring the best street dance performers.
Sixteen dancers will compete in one-on-one battles on surprise musical pieces, creating performances based exclusively on improvisation, musical interpretation, and personal charisma.

The day will begin at 2:30 pm with registration, continue at 5 pm with the Qualifier and culminate at 7 pm with the national final that will award the pass to the World Final scheduled for Zurich.

The public will decide the winners

One of the event's distinctive features will be the direct involvement of spectators. Unlike traditional competitions, technical judges won't decide the winners of the challenges: the verdict will come directly from the audience, who will vote on each battle by holding up red or blue cards.

The 16 finalists will take to the stage, accompanied by hosts Teddy and Chiaretta, with a soundtrack provided by DJ Ake. Gaia De Martino and Alessio Cavaliere, familiar faces to television audiences from their participation in the talent show "Amici," will also perform during the halftime showcase.

Piazza Municipio becomes an open-air playground

For two days, Piazza Municipio will be transformed into a large open space dedicated to urban creativity. Football, music, dance, and popular cheering will intertwine in an event that aims to celebrate the value of participation and spontaneous artistic expression.

Access to both events is free. To attend Red Bull Dance Your Style, you must register in advance through Eventbrite, subject to availability.

It seems like a nice and interesting initiative, but I don't know if safety rules will be respected or if the city will be able to handle so many people. We hope everything goes well, but perhaps information about parking, hours, and organization is lacking; more communication and volunteers are needed.
