The suspect is currently being held at the Carabinieri station, where he is being questioned in the presence of his lawyer. Once the investigation is complete, the magistrate from the Nola Public Prosecutor's Office will assess his position and any necessary action.

The fight between scooter riders and the chase

According to an initial reconstruction of the facts, the soldier and the attacker were traveling on two different scooters when, along Via Guglielmo Marconi, they allegedly had a heated argument over traffic.

The argument quickly escalated. After the verbal exchange, the motorcyclist allegedly chased the policeman, then pulled out a weapon and opened fire, firing six shots in his direction.

By pure chance, none of the bullets hit the soldier, avoiding what could have been dramatic consequences.

The attacks on cars and buildings

One of the bullets struck and damaged the tire of a car parked along the street. The others struck the wall of a nearby building.

The incident has caused great alarm among residents of the area, where the shooting took place on one of the main streets of the Vesuvian municipality.

Cameras and decisive testimonies

The Carabinieri investigation began immediately after the incident. Analysis of images recorded by public and private video surveillance cameras in the area, cross-referencing them with the testimonies gathered by investigators, proved crucial.

The elements acquired have allowed the police to identify the alleged shooter and locate him within a few hours. The man was then taken to the police station along with his lawyer to be interviewed by investigators.

The investigation, coordinated by the Nola Public Prosecutor's Office, continues to reconstruct every stage of the incident and determine who is responsible.

I'm reading this article and it seems to me that the situation has been described with too much simplification; the witnesses said different things, and it's not clear who was driving, and the police carried out checks but didn't explain the exact timeframe. Let's hope the prosecutor's office clarifies the situation and that all responsibilities are determined without haste.
