Capaccio Paestum – Tense moments erupted during the clearing of the former Myriam cinema, a building illegally occupied and used as a makeshift shelter, where a deputy commander of the municipal police was attacked and injured.
According to the reconstruction, the officers had entered the building, which was found to be in a very dilapidated condition, to identify the occupants. During the operation, a 25-year-old man of North African origin suddenly attacked the officer, slapping, kicking, and punching her.
The deputy commander suffered injuries to various parts of her body, fortunately deemed not serious.
The young man was immediately arrested and taken to the police station for formal procedures. During the investigation, he was found in possession of several grams of hashish. The checks also revealed that he had a criminal record, a residence ban, and an expulsion order issued by the Milan Police Headquarters. A few hours earlier, he had also been reported for illegal possession of a knife.
After the formalities were completed, the 25-year-old was charged with various charges including unauthorized occupation of a building, resisting arrest, assault, and assault on a public official. He was also issued with an eviction order and a city ban.
It seems to me that the situation had been too tense. The officers had gone to identify the occupants, but then an episode erupted; a 25-year-old of North African origin apparently attacked the deputy commander, who suffered injuries to various parts, but not serious ones. The boy was subsequently arrested and taken to the command post for procedures, along with substances found.
