During a local patrol on the night between Monday and Tuesday, officers from the Ischia Police Station responded to a report of a theft at a hotel on Via Baldassarre Cossa. The hotel owner reported finding a broken window and the missing cash of approximately €450.
The investigation, supported by the analysis of video surveillance images, led to the identification and tracking of the perpetrator, a 49-year-old man with a criminal record, in Casamicciola while he was on a motorcycle. Further investigations revealed that the man was also responsible for another theft that occurred last Sunday, when he stole €60 from a car parked at another accommodation facility on Ischia.
Following this evidence, the 49-year-old was reported by the State Police for the two thefts.
It seems strange to me that things like this happen often, the owner said that the window was forced and the 450 euros disappeared, but the checks apparently were not completed, the video images do not show it very well and the man was on a motorbike and the police reported it without much explanation.
