Carabinieri conducted extraordinary checks between Casal di Principe and San Cipriano d'Aversa. On the evening of July 16, officers from the Casal di Principe Company, supported by the Operations and Mobile Unit and personnel from the Marcianise and Aversa Companies, launched a coordinated operation aimed at combating crime and strengthening local security.
The operation involved checking individuals under restrictive measures, weapons holders, road traffic, and combating drug trafficking. The results show 100 individuals identified, 48 vehicles checked, and 11 violations of the Highway Code.
Numerous reports were filed during the investigation. One man was charged after being found with approximately 10 grams of marijuana, while another was in trouble for possessing precision scales, packaging materials, and various caliber ammunition without a permit.
A young man caught with a 24-centimeter-long butterfly knife, a weapon prohibited under current law, was also reported.
Particular attention was also paid to road safety. The Carabinieri reported a driver found driving with a blood alcohol level of 1,63 grams per liter, well over the legal limit. Three other drivers were charged with driving without a license, for repeated violations; two of them also refused to submit to the required alcohol and drug tests.
During the checks, cases of alleged receiving stolen goods also emerged. Two people were reported: one was driving a moped without a license plate or chassis number, and the other was riding a motorcycle that had been reported stolen and reported as such last May.
Finally, on the drug front, two people were reported to the Prefecture as drug users after being found in possession of small quantities of cocaine and hashish intended for personal use.
The operation confirms the Carabinieri's presence in the Aversa countryside, with services aimed at preventing crime, combating the main forms of illegality, and increasing the perceived safety of citizens. It remains clear that all proceedings are in the preliminary investigation phase, and the suspects are presumed innocent until a final sentence is handed down.
I understand the work of the Carabinieri and the need for security, however it should be verified whether the protocols are respected and if those presumed innocent receive all the procedural guarantees without transparency, the citizens' trust remains uncertain and confused.
The operation would seem useful but there are too many unclear things such as the numbers: 100 people identified but the criteria are not explained, 48 vehicles checked without explanation and the reports do not always show the context, I expect official information.
It seems like a necessary test, but it's unclear how the subjects were selected and whether the community was informed. Many details are missing, and the method remains unclear; we hope for clarification during the preliminary investigation.
