The sixteenth edition of the Social World Film Festival concluded with an emotional and acclaimed awards ceremony, directed by director Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo. The event, known for its celebration of social cinema, saw the victory of Nunzia De Stefano's feature film "Malavia," named Best Film by the Technical Jury.
Alex Yu's short film "Laughing Through the Dark" won the award for Best Short Film, while in the documentary section, the jury chose Ena-Sanan Hdagha's "Behind One Smile" as best film. The "Focus Occhio al Sud" section awarded "Licia" by Gaia Marotta.
The People's Jury awarded the Best Director award to Anna Di Francisca for "The Bubble of Crazy Waters," while Donghoon Yu won Best Screenplay for "Returning Winter." Fausto Russo Alesi received the Best Actor award for "The Bubble of Crazy Waters."
Among the short films, Elisabetta Rocchetti stood out for best direction with “Super Vito”, Gianni Spezzano won the award for best screenplay with “L'uomo di ghiaccio” and Filippo Timi was awarded for best performance in “Tempi supplementari”.
The closing night also paid tribute to actors Eduardo Scarpetta and Peppe Iodice, sparking great enthusiasm among the audience and underscoring the festival's cultural importance. Organized by the City of Vico Equense with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Campania Region, and the Campania Film Commission, the Social World Film Festival confirms its role as an international hub for socially engaged cinema.

I've seen brief reports of the SocialWorldFilmFestival and I admit that the idea is nice but the organization didn't seem perfect, the popular jury chose films with unclear criteria, the awards were hastily arranged; the audience was enthusiastic but some of the speeches seemed confusing and poorly explained.
