Pastorano – A seemingly routine trip along the highway turned into a drug operation worth tens of thousands of euros. State Police officers from the Caserta North Highway Subsection intercepted and seized tens of thousands of vehicles.
18 kilograms of hashish were found along the A1 motorway, at kilometer 721+900 north, in the municipality of Pastorano. The arrest, made in flagrante delicto, removed a shipment of the drug from the illegal market, ready to flood the drug dealing streets.

The Highway Patrol was carrying out routine checks along the main arterial roads when it ordered the vehicle to stop. When the document checks began, the driver began to show clear signs of impatience.
The cold sweat and excessive agitation prompted the police to investigate further. A search of the vehicle revealed two suspicious bags: inside were 176 blocks of a brown substance, carefully wrapped in clear cellophane. Subsequent scientific analysis confirmed the suspicions: they were high-quality hashish.
A 150 euro business
Released on the retail market, the shipment would have brought substantial profits to criminal organizations. With the average price of soft drugs hovering around 10 euros per gram on the drug dealing scene, the 18 kilograms seized would have brought in an estimated 150 to 180 euros. A serious financial blow for those who had planned the trip.
The MBF brand and investigative leads
Following his arrest, the man was taken to prison by order of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, a measure later confirmed by the Preliminary Investigations Judge. But the investigators' work has only just begun. Investigators are now working to decipher the mystery of the initials "MBF" stamped on each block: a veritable "trademark" used by distribution centers to identify drug shipments to guarantee their origin or destination.
The hypothesis under consideration is that the arrested courier was simply a link in a more complex chain, hired to move the drugs from storage areas in the Naples area or the Agro Aversano to lodging areas in Southern Lazio or Central Italy.
Please note that the proceedings are in the preliminary investigation phase. The suspect is presumed innocent until a final conviction is issued, and the precautionary measure was adopted by the Judge during the preliminary hearing.
