Tight controls were carried out throughout the evening and into the night in the area under the jurisdiction of the Marcianise Carabinieri Company. Eight patrols and 16 officers combed the main transit and gathering areas, with the support of the Sarno Carabinieri Canine Unit and the drug-sniffing dog "Thelma."

The results of the operation yield significant numbers: 140 people identified and 68 vehicles checked, with 24 traffic violations reported for a total fine of approximately €26.200. Four vehicles were also seized or administratively detained.

Drugs: Five reports to the Prefecture

During the checks, five people were reported to the Prefecture for being found in possession of a total of 7 grams of hashish, 2 grams of cocaine, and 4 grams of marijuana.

The substances were seized and the five individuals will undergo the administrative assessments required by the narcotics legislation.

51-year-old man arrested for serving more than 16 years

The most significant result of the operation came in Marcianise, where the Carabinieri executed a prison warrant against a local man, born in 1975, already known to the police.
The measure concerns a total residual sentence of 16 years and 5 months of imprisonment, accrued following the accumulation of various convictions for crimes including conspiracy to traffic drugs, theft, and private violence.

The events for which the convictions were issued date back to 2002 and 2023 and concern incidents committed in Marcianise and surrounding municipalities.
The man was transferred to prison, where he remains at the disposal of the competent authorities.
Driving without a license and without insurance

In Orta di Atella, the military reported a local man, born in 1979, caught driving a Fiat Ducato without a license, a repeat offender within two years.

The investigation also revealed the lack of mandatory insurance coverage. The vehicle was therefore seized and placed in an authorized warehouse.

Hatchet, mallet and awl in the car

In Gricignano di Aversa, a search led to the discovery of a veritable collection of potentially offensive objects.

During a search of a Seat Leon, the Carabinieri found a man, born in 1979 and resident in Casal di Principe, in possession of a hatchet with a wooden handle, a baseball bat, and an awl with a blade.
The items were seized and the man was reported at large for the alleged crimes of illegal possession of weapons or instruments capable of causing harm.

But the search yielded another surprise. The trunk contained hazardous and non-hazardous waste, transported without the vehicle being registered in the National Register of Environmental Managers.
The vehicle and the waste were also seized and entrusted to an authorised warehouse, pending technical checks and the procedures required for correct disposal.

Furthermore, for 1979, the process for the possible application of a mandatory expulsion order with a ban on returning to the Municipality of Gricignano di Aversa has been initiated.

12-centimeter knife: complaint filed

Another operation was carried out in Marcianise, where a local man, born in 1978, was reported after being found in possession of a knife with a blade approximately 12 centimeters long and a pointed tip.
The weapon was also seized.

Road safety and prevention

The operation is part of the Carabinieri's territorial control program to combat and prevent various forms of illegality, from illegal driving to drug possession, from carrying offensive objects to violations of environmental regulations.

This activity, through roadside checks and targeted inspections, aims to strengthen the presence of law enforcement, especially during the evening and nighttime hours.
As required by law, the individuals reported are presumed innocent until a final conviction is handed down. The competent judicial and administrative authorities have been informed for further action.
