The number of people displaced in Pozzuoli has risen to approximately 700 following the magnitude 4.7 earthquake that struck the Campi Flegrei area last Friday, the strongest tremor recorded in the region in recent years. This figure emerged during a meeting of the Relief Coordination Center convened at the Prefecture in Naples to review the emergency.
Of the more than 700 residents forced to leave their homes, approximately 568 have already found independent accommodation. The situations of those without a permanent solution remain under monitoring, while inspections of properties affected by the earthquake continue.
Currently, nearly 400 homes have been declared uninhabitable, but this number could change as the fire department completes its technical inspections. Inspections continue nonstop to assess the safety of the buildings and determine which structures can be reopened.
During the meeting at the Prefecture, which was also attended by Campania Region President Roberto Fico, the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, explained that the goal is to quickly complete the inspections. "Thanks to the additional inspection forms from the fire department, guaranteed by Minister Piantedosi, all inspections of the damaged properties will be completed by the end of the week," he reiterated during the meeting.
Vigilance remains high in the Phlegraean Fields area, where the population continues to grapple with the effects of bradyseism and the need to ensure safety and assistance for the families affected. The next few days will be crucial in determining the total number of damaged buildings and the measures to be taken for the return of the displaced.
